THE ROAD TO HELL AND THE PATH TO HEAVEN
THE FOLLOWING STATEMENTS are attributed to Jesus, the Christ:                                                                                                                                                     "The road to Hell is broad, and smooth, and many there are who take it! The path to Heaven is narrow, and steep, and few there are who find it!"                                                                                                                                                    "If you, who are evil..." (addressing the multitudes).                                                                                                                                                                        "The Kingdom of Heaven is within you!"* (as is the Kingdom of Hell!).                                                                                                                                            And about Christ: "He was like unto us in all things but sin!"                                                                                                                                                           WHAT THESE BIBLE QUOTES MEAN, is that Jesus was an enlightened, "non-criminal" mind-type, who saw a predominance of "criminal" mind in the people of His time.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                        A Jewish rabbi such as Christ, preaching in a Jewish Theocracy, naturally saw things in religious terms. Which terms I am not disputing. But sin, in a Theocratic society, is the same as crime, in a civil society. Christ was seeing crime everywhere, and didn't like it. He wasn't criminal Himself. And He attempted to do something about the situation, and was murdered for so doing.              This was a part of His humanity. Those who believe in Jesus as God, or as the Son of God, also know that He called Himself, "the Son of man". And He lived prior to Galileo, Darwin, and Freud. Jesus, as a man, was a man of His time.                                                                                                                                                                                   THE REAL POINT is that the species which I have called "criminal" mind, predominates over "civilized" mind at present, as it did in the time of Christ.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                  THE REASON FOR THIS is that Man has lived in Civilization for a mere 6,000 years; his mental evolution, to a predominance of "civilized" mind over "criminal" mind, lacks sufficient time as yet to occur.                                                                                                                                                                           *this is about mental development, referred to in religion as "spiritual growth". The process is a part of Evolution of Mind. Note that such growth requires effort: sloth, or laziness, is regarded as a deadly sin in Christianity for this reason. See the first quote above, attributed to Christ.                                                                                                                                         Please see "morality over time", under "contact".
