This publication presents the features of a book, within the structure of a website. The advent of the internet made such a species of writing inevitable. The communication of information and ideas in such a form, transcends the elements present in a traditional book format. Such a publication is termed a "web-book".                                                                                                                                                                                                        The one problem facing the author of such a work, is that he himself cannot maintain it on the internet indefinitely. Others must do so, if they deem the work to be sufficiently important or worthwhile.                                                                                                                                                                                   This factor would seem to guarantee the "survival of the fittest", in terms of the limited number of high-quality works maintained on the system in this manner.
